Building resilience of migrant households of Muribahal block of Balangir district in Odisha through sustained livelihoods funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation

The project aims at improved well-being of 200 migrant households through augmented livelihoods. The project focuses on (a) availability of a choice to migrate; people should be taking a conscious decision to migrate and not be forced to do it in any desperate situation. The project envisages reducing the forced migration rate by 40%. (b) Education level of children is very critical and in any domestic crisis the firs thing that happens is children dropping out of school. With more children staying back at the villages and studying in schools would enhance the school enrolment rate and reduce the school dropout rates by 30% each. (c) Reduction in malnutrition level among children (d) Reduction in drudgery among women and improved participation of women in decision making (e) Improved wellbeing of elderly people: Reduction in cases of elderly persons left alone at villages. (f) Improved conditions of land Resources through improved utilization. (g) Improved Resilience to tackle shocks in future pandemics.
